Warping

What is Warping?

Warping is a distortion or bending in wood. It happens when wood dries unevenly, causing certain sections of the wood to contract faster than others, leaving the wood twisted.

There are five ways wood can be warped, bowing, crooking, kinking, cupping, and twisting. Wood warping is avoidable if steps are taken to make sure the wood is completely dry before being used.
