What is a Self-Close Mechanism?

The term self-close mechanism refers to a mechanism that keeps cabinet drawers and doors from slamming shut. This mechanism slows the speed at which the drawer or door closes and softens the initial impact of the closure. It typically stops about 1 inch before it’s fully closed and softly shuts.
