Center Stile

What is a Center Stile?

A center stile is a strip of either wood or metal that divides the two halves of a cabinet. It helps support the cabinet’s frame, but is sometimes removable. Usually center stiles are found in large cabinets with double doors and heavy frames. They aren’t as common as they used to be because cabinets are now made with stronger material that don’t need as much support, and they get in the way of storage space.
